How do I clean the kettle?
To clean your kettle, follow the steps below.
1. Unplug the kettle and allow to cool down before cleaning.
2. Use a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the kettle and base. Only use non-abrasive cleaning materials.
3. The scale filter can be easily removed. Open the lid, then grasp the filter and slide it out by pulling upwards.
4. The filter can be cleaned by running under a hot water tap and rubbing with a cloth or brush.
5. To replace the filter, slide it back into place at the back of the spout until it snaps in.
How do I descale the kettle?
Descaling can be completed with a descaling agent specifically designed for kettles. Follow the directions on the descaling agent package or take the steps below.
1. Fill the kettle with equal parts water and white vinegar.
2. Let sit for 30 minutes.
3. Discard solution and rinse kettle thoroughly with clean water.
4. Repeat this process until all deposits are removed.
How do I manually set a temperature?
Use the +/- buttons to manually adjust the temperature in 5-degree increments. Press START/STOP to begin the heating cycle.
The Display shows "dry".
When the display shows "dry" it means that there is little to no water in the kettle. Allow the kettle to cool down for at least 10 minutes before filling with water.
How do I turn on/off Hold Temp?
Press the HOLD TEMP button. When the button is illuminated, this indicates that the Hold Temp feature is toggled on. When the button is not illuminated, Hold Temp is off. Hold Temp can be toggled on anytime before, during, or less than 30 seconds after completion of a heating cycle.
What parts are dishwasher safe?
No parts of the kettle are dishwasher safe.
How do I change temperatures during a heating cycle?
At any point during a heating cycle, you can select a different preset or use the +/- buttons to change the temperature. If the current water temperature is higher than a newly selected temperature, the kettle will turn off.
Why does the water temperature in my cup not match what I selected on the kettle?
This could be due to many factors, including cup temperature before pouring, water temperature loss while pouring, or the temperature tolerance of the kettle.
Why does the water temperature in the kettle not match what I selected on the UI?
The temperature of the water in the kettle may vary slightly from the temperature selected on the UI. The kettle's temperature tolerance for any heating cycle is +/- 5°F (+/- 3°C), while the Hold Temp tolerance is +/- 9°F (+/- 5°C). Note that thermometer temperatures will vary based on where a thermometer is placed in the kettle.
Why do different teas require different temperatures?
Every type of tea and coffee has an optimal brewing temperature that brings out the most flavor. Our presets reach the ideal temperature for the most robust and flavorful cup every time.
Can I steep tea/coffee or cook food in my kettle?
No, do not steep tea or coffee or place any other food or beverage in the kettle.
Where is the 1 cup marking?
The 1 cup marking (0.25L) can be found inside the kettle, where it is marked in orange.
What is boil dry protection?
If the kettle has insufficient water when starting or runs out of water during heating, the kettle will automatically switch off to protect from overheating and causing damage. Allow the kettle to cool for at least 10 minutes before refilling.
How long does Hold Temp last for?
Hold Temp will remain on for 30 minutes. It can be turned off at any point by pressing START/STOP, pressing HOLD TEMP, or removing the kettle from the base.
Will the kettle automatically shut off after activating Hold Temp?
Yes, the kettle will automatically switch off after 30 minutes.
How do I turn my kettle off?
The kettle will automatically power off after 5 minutes of inactivity. To manually power off, press and hold the START/STOP button for 3 seconds.
How do I illuminate the water window?
The water window will illuminate when a heating cycle has started. Press START/STOP to start a heating cycle.
Why is my kettle making a clicking noise?
If your kettle is making a clicking noise during a heating cycle, this means that your kettle has gone into boil dry protection mode. Allow the kettle to cool for at least 10 minutes before restarting the heating cycle. Please make sure that you always fill the kettle up to the minimum fill line before using.
