Preheating is highly recommended for best results, but you can skip preheating by selecting the function again after you press the START/STOP button. However, you cannot override preheating when using the Grill function.
Yes, we recommend checking on your food regularly throughout the cooking process. Simply lift the basket out of the unit to shake your food, or you can leave the basket in place to rotate your food. When you are done, slide the basket back into place and close the hood to continue cooking to your desired level of browning or crispiness. Please note that the unit will automatically pause when the hood is opened.
Yes, you can use aluminum foil in the Foodi Grill just as you would in an outside grill.

After grilling meat, let it rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting it. As it rests, it will retain more moisture and stay juicy.
For best grilling results, we strongly recommend preheating the Foodi Grill. Depending on the selected temperature setting, it may take up to 8 minutes to preheat. Always wait for the unit to fully preheat before adding food. Adding food before preheating is complete can lead to longer preheat timing and overcooking of food.
Yes, the timer will automatically pause when the hood is opened and then automatically resume after it is closed.
When the unit is powered on, the digital display will show 0:00 and all of the function lights will be illuminated.
When cooking with the Grill function you should always use the grill grate, as it promotes optimal airflow for even cooking, crisping, and charring.
The countdown timer will pause automatically when you open the hood of the unit. Please note that by pressing the START/STOP button during cooking, the cooking function will be canceled.
Use the up and down TEMP arrows to adjust the cooking temperature in any function. When using the Grill function, toggle the GRILL button or use the up and down arrows to adjust cooking temperature. If you want to adjust the temperature at any time during the cooking process, press the up and down TEMP arrows at any time. The unit will then resume at those settings.

Unplug the unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. To clean the main unit and the control panel, wipe them clean with a damp cloth. The cooking pot, grill grate, crisper basket, splatter shield, grease collector, and any other accessories can be washed in the dishwasher. If food residue is stuck on the grill grate or crisper basket, place them in a sink filled with warm, soapy water and allow to soak. Air-dry or towel-dry all parts after cleaning.
To install, gently push the splatter shield into the back of the hood, fitting the tab on screen with the slot on the back of the hood. Then push the splatter shield upward until it clicks into the clip on the front of the hood. To remove it, first allow the splatter shield to cool completely. Then use your thumb to release the clip on the front of the hood by pushing the tab upwards and using your other hand to pull one of the tabs toward you. This will release the splatter shield, allowing you to pull it out of the ridge along the back of the hood.
Place the crisper basket or pot on heat-safe surfaces only and use caution when handling, as they will both heat during cooking.
For best results, ingredients should be added after the unit has preheated.

The timer increments vary depending on the function:
- Air Crisp: 1-minute increments up to 1 hour. **When the cooking temperature is 425F or 450F you can adjust the time in 1-minute increments up to 30-minutes.
- Roast: 1-minute increments for the first hour, followed by 5-minute increments for the next 3 hours. **When the cooking temperature is 450F and 500F you can adjust the time in 1-minute increments up to 30-minutes.
- Dehydrate (not included in all models): 15-minute increments up to 12 hours.
- Bake: 1-minute increments for the first hour, followed by 5-minute increments for the next hour.
- Grill: 1-minute increments up to 30 minutes.
- Grill: Grill your foods indoors to create even char, grill marks, and flavor.
- Air Crisp: Give your food crispiness and crunch with little to no oil.
- Roast: Use the unit to prepare tender meats, roasted vegetables, and more in the cooking pot.
- Bake: Use the unit to create cakes, baked treats, and more.

The base of the unit is made from a stainless-steel metal wrap and the lid is high temperature resistant plastic.
Located on the underside of the hood, the splatter shield keeps the heating element clean and prevents the unit from smoking. Although the splatter shield is removable for cleaning, we recommend that it's installed when cooking, especially when using the Grill function.

We recommend that you use one of the following oils when grilling: Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Canola Oil, Grape Seed Oil or Vegetable Oil. Note: Using olive oil will result in a higher smoke output.

- Medium (450F) - Batch cooked chicken in a marinade or sauce
- High (500F) - Steaks, chicken, seafood, fish, burgers, hot dogs

The power button is located in the middle of the control panel to the right of the START/STOP button.
The fan will continue to run even though the cooking function is complete. This helps to cool the interior components of the unit, to ensure that they are not overheating and being exposed to more wear and tear than necessary.
Although the outside of the unit will heat up during the cooking process, the UI and lid handle will remain cool to touch.
