Operational Questions
How do I open the lid?
To open the lid, use the designated handle on the front right-hand side of the unit just below the Ninja logo. Your SmartSwitch can be in either position to open the unit.
Can I use a different cook pot with the Ninja®Speedi?
No, only use the cooking pot included with the unit or a Ninja® replacement cooking pot. Cooking pots from other brands are not guaranteed to be compatible with the Ninja® Speedi.
How do I install the condensation collector?
Slide it into the slot on the cooker base on the back left-hand corner of the unit. Then slide it out and hand‐wash after each use.
When using the Slow Cook or Sous Vide function for recipes that take 4+ hours to cook, you may need to empty the condensation collector during cooking.
What position should my crisper tray be in?
- Use the elevated position for proteins and vegetables when following recipe instructions for Speedi Meals or when using air broil.
- Use the bottom position for traditional steam and air frying capabilities. Be sure to reference charts and recipes for crisper tray position recommendations.
How to I move my crisper tray from lower to upper position?
- To use the crisper plate in the elevated position, pull out the legs. The legs fold out like when opening a book.
- To use the crisper plate in the lower position, push in the legs - similar to closing a book.
What should I do if there's too much liquid leftover when I'm done cooking my main?
If your base needs more time, switch to SEAR/SAUTE and continue cooking with the lid open until the liquid is absorbed.
How should I remove my crisper tray?
When cooking is complete, remove protein and/or vegetables from the crisper tray. Then use silicone-tipped tongs to grab the center handle and remove the tray from the unit. Using standard metal tongs may damage the non-stick coating on the handle.
General Usage Questions
Is the cooking pot nonstick?
The cooking pot is made of aluminum with a nonstick nano-ceramic coating that is FDA approved and food safe. This coating is also PTFE-free and PFOA-free.
How do I know what accessories are safe to use in my Ninja Speedi?
Accessories designed especially for use in the Speedi are available for purchase at ninjaaccessories.com. Any accessory you currently use in your oven is also safe to use in your Speedi.
Will the outside of the Ninja®Speedi get hot?
The outside of the unit and stainless steel surface on the lid gets hot during cooking, but the control panel, exterior handles, and handles on the lid will remain safe to touch at any time during cooking.
Why is the time counting down so slowly?
You may have set hours rather than minutes. When setting time, the display will show HH:MM and the time will increase/decrease in minute increments when there is still more than 1 hour of time remaining in the cook cycle.
The Ninja®Speedi is counting up rather than down.
When in the Sear/Sauté mode, the unit counts up rather than down to indicate how long you've been at the current heat setting for.
What should come in my box?
'Within your box, you will find the base unit, cooking pot, crisper tray, manual, recipe book, and quick start guide. The cooking pot and crisper tray are preinstalled in your unit.
Why is my Speedi so loud?
Due to the Speedi's unique 2-in-1 design, the fan-related functions may take on a slightly different pitch. This is normal and is not an indication of product malfunction.
Why is there water at the base of my Ninja®Speedi?
During and after cooking, water condensation collects on the inside of the lid. Before opening the lid completely, hold the lid partially open for 5 seconds to allow the condensation to drain into the condensation catch.
How much does the unit weigh?
The unit weights approximately 16 pounds.
What are the dimensions of the unit?

How tall is the unit with the lid open?
The unit is approximately 20 inches tall with the lid opened.

Can I use glass bakeware in the unit?
Yes. It is safe to use "oven safe" glass bakeware in the Speedi.
Why does my dial say RapidCook and not Rapid Cooker?
We are constantly making improvements to our products and packaging so your unit may differ slightly from existing imagery online, on packaging, or in products information documentation.
Cleaning Questions
How do I clean the Ninja®Speedi and its accessories?
Follow these steps to clean the unit thoroughly after every use:
1. Unplug the unit from the outlet before cleaning.
2. To clean the cooker base and control panel, wipe them with a damp cloth. NEVER put the cooker base in the dishwasher or immerse it in water or any other liquid.
3. ALWAYS allow the lid to completely cool down before cleaning. Wipe it down with a wet cloth or paper towel. If using mild cleaners, ALWAYS wipe down after with a wet cloth or paper towel. NEVER immerse the lid in water or any other liquid.
4. The cooking pot and crisper tray can be washed in the dishwasher. DO NOT place the main unit in the dishwasher or immerse in liquid.
5. If food residue is stuck on the cooking pot or crisper tray, fill the sink with warm, soapy water and allow to soak before cleaning. DO NOT use scouring pads. If scrubbing is necessary, use a non‐abrasive cleanser or liquid dish soap with a nylon pad or brush.
6. Thoroughly air‐dry all parts after washing.
7. To clean the heating element and the inside of the lid, use the steam cleaning instructions below.
We recommend inspecting the interior of the lid prior to cooking with “wet cooking functions,” which include Slow Cook, Steam, Sous Vide, Sear/Sauté, and all SteamCrisp functions. If you see any food residue or oil buildup on the heating element or fan, we recommend steam cleaning the unit (see instructions below), then wiping down the interior of the lid.
STEAM CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Fill the pot with 3 cups of water.
2. Move SmartSwitch to RapidCooker.
3. Select STEAM, and set time to 10 minutes. Press START/STOP.
4. When time reaches 0 and the unit has cooled down, use a wet cloth or sponge to wipe down the interior of the lid.
CAUTION: When cleaning the interior of the lid, do not touch the fan.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed, and spot clean as necessary.
Can I use oven cleaner on my unit?
No, harsh cleaners, such as conventional oven or grill cleaners, can ruin the non-stick coating.
Cooking Questions
What are the different modes and cooking functions?
Speedi RapidCooker allows you to seamlessly transition between steam and airfry modes without having to switch lids. With the SmartSwitch, you can choose between RapidCook and Air Fry/Stovetop.
When in RapidCook Mode, the following functions are available:

What do the different cooking functions do?
- SpeediMeals: Cook your mains and sides at the same time using infused steam and cyclonic air.
- Steam & Crisp: Evenly cook, brown, and crisp ingredients without drying them out.
- Steam & Bake: Promote even rise when baking while retaining moisture and fluffy texture.
- Steam: Gently cook delicate foods at high temps to lock in flavor and nutrients.
- Proof (SF301 ONLY): Create an environment for dough to rest and rise.
- Air Fry: Gives food crispiness and crunch with little to no oil.
- Bake/Roast: Prepare baked treats, oven-tender meats, and more using dry heat only.
- Broil: Cook at high heat to caramelize and brown food.
- Dehydrate (SF301 ONLY): Dehydrate meats, fruits, and vegetables.
- Sear/Sauté: Brown meats, sauté veggies, and simmer sauces.
- Slow Cook: Cook food at a lower temperature for a longer period of time.

How do I start a cooking function?
To select a cooking function, make sure your unit is plugged in and turned on. Use the center arrows to select your desired cook function. Use the right and left arrows to set time and temp, then press START-STOP to beging cooking.
How do I change different modes on the Ninja® Speedi?
Close the lid, toggle the SmartSwitch above the display to switch between modes, and use the center arrows to select the desired function.
With the SmartSwitch Air Fry/Stove Top Mode, you can use Slow Cook, Sear/Saute or Sous Vide with the lid either open or closed.
Do I have to let the Ninja®Speedi preheat before I use the Air Fry function?
Close the lid, toggle the SmartSwitch above the display to switch between modes, and use the center arrows to select the desired function.

How do I cancel a cooking function?
Press the START-STOP button or Power button at any time during cooking to cancel a cooking function.
How much water should I add when cooking?
Ensure that there is at least 1/2 cup of water in the cook pot to allow the unit to build steam for RapidCooker functions. Refer to the cooking charts.
Can I use aluminum foil and parchment paper with the Speedi?
Yes. It is safe to use parchment paper and aluminum foil in the cook pot. The use of aluminum foil is suggested in some recipes.
Screen Errors and General Questions
Why does the display show "ADD POT"?
This means the cooking pot is not installed in the cooker base. The cooking pot must be properly installed for all functions.
Why does the display show errors "SHUT LID"or "ADD WATER"?
"SHUT LID" - The lid is open and needs to be closed for the selected function to start.
“ADD WATER” - The water level is too low. Add more water to the unit for the function to continue.
What should I do if I accidentally pour water into the cooker base instead of the cooking pot?
Unplug the unit, then use a large towel to absorb as much water as possible. Once the cooking base is completely dry, you may use it to cook again. If you experience difficulties, contact Customer Service at 1-877-646-5288. There is a lot of steam coming from the Ninja®Speedi during pressure cooking.
It’s normal for steam to release through the units' vents, especially on RapidCooker functions or when air frying foods with a high water content.
Why does my Ninja®Speedi feel cold during Proof function - SF301 ONLY?
The Proof function creates an environment for dough to rest and rise. It is normal for the the unit to feel cold while using this function.
Can I use the pot on my stove?
No, the cook pot cannot be used on the stove. This unique pot is design only for use in the Ninja Speedi.
Can I put the unit on my stove?
No, the unit cannot be used on a stove. Do not place your unit on the stove during use or for storage.
Can I put my cook pot in the oven?
No, the cook pot cannot be used in the oven. This unique pot is designed only for use in the Ninja Speedi.
Why is my unit tripping a circuit breaker?
This unit draws nearly 15 amps at full power. If your unit is plugged into an outlet on a 10-amp breaker, it will trip the breaker. If you unit is plugged into an outlet in a 15 or 20-amp circuit breaker along with another items/appliances in use, it may trip the breaker. Try using a different outlet. Otherwise, contact a licensed electrician for assistance.
Is this unit safe to use around birds?
